Miss S's Village Tree Bauble...

A few weeks ago we braved the freezing cold to head down to our local village square to experience the local Christmas markets and meet Samichlaus (Santa).  While we were there, Miss S was given a "kugel" to decorate.  The instructions were to decorate the ball, attach a tag with the child's name, address and age and then drop it in to one of the local businesses taking collection of them.  The baubles will adorn the large Christmas tree in the village square on Christmas Eve.

We decided to use a similar technique to decorate the ball as we used for the autumnal table lanterns, back in October.  Then a splash of glitter, just for a bit of spangle.

The trick to getting Miss S to smile for photos is to say "OK, this next photo I don't want you to smile - I need you to be as serious as possible..."

These plain balls are available at a lot of craft stores, in different sizes, and it can be a lot of fun to decorate them with your kids.  They make a great gift for grandparents!
